Start a group with the people you actually go out with. Give it a name, an emoji, a photo, and a line about what it is for. Share the code or the QR, and everyone lands in the same chat with the same plans. Roommates, the study group, the Thursday-night crew: keep them separate, and keep them all.
Invite by Code or QR
Every group gets a private invite code and a QR to scan. Share it, or add a friend straight from your friends list. No one gets in uninvited.
Creator Controls
Rename the group, swap the photo, remove members, reset the invite code if it gets out, and decide whether members can invite people of their own.

Set a Time, or Vote on One
Lock in a night, leave it open, or put two or more times up for a vote. Everyone marks what works, the group sees a running count, and whoever made the plan picks the winner.
I'm In, Maybe, Can't
One tap to RSVP, and the plan card shows the running tally. Change your mind and the group finds out, no group-chat apology required.
Reminders and Nudges
A heads-up 24 hours out, another an hour before, and an alert when the time gets finalized, someone RSVPs, or the plan gets cancelled.
Check In When You Get There
"I'm here" tells the group you made it, and the plan tracks who actually showed. Past plans keep the record: you were there, or you said you would be.

Drop a match from your feed into the group and ask for a read. Everyone sees the full profile, picks a prompt like "Red flag or green flag?", and the reactions are visible to the whole group.

Run a poll three ways: a custom question, a venue rating, or pull in an upcoming plan and ask "Should I go?" The group votes, you decide.

Post the debrief after: a five-star rating, a one-liner, and whether you'd go back. Linked to the actual plan or date when there is one.

Requests You Control
Every connection is a request the other person accepts. View the profile first, decline, or report and block. Dismiss a suggestion and it never comes back.

Being in a group never makes you datable
Friends and group members only ever see you as a match if you choose to be discoverable. You can use Tango for friends and plans alone and never touch the dating side. Your dating visibility is opt-in, always, and switching it on is a decision you make on purpose.
Somebody always knows where you are
Before a date or a night out, open the group chat and tap Safety Share. Your live location goes to your group in real time, visible on your own screen too, and cancels the moment you say so.
Live GPS, Both Ways
Your location goes to your group on a live map, with a status card in the chat that updates every 15 seconds. You see exactly what they see.
You Set the Window
Share for 1, 2, or 4 hours, or all night. Add a label so the group knows what they are looking at. Stop it whenever you want.
In-App SOS Alert
If anything feels off, tap SOS. Every member of the group is notified inside Tango with your name, the time, and your exact current location.
Auto-Delete
Location data is deleted from our servers the moment the share ends or expires. We never keep it.
For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911 first. Safety Share tells your friends. It does not contact emergency services.
Your groups, your rules
Every group carries its own notification settings, independent of the others, so the quiet study group does not buzz your phone the way your best friends do. Toggle each kind of event on or off, per group.
SOS alerts are always on
They cannot be disabled, whatever your other notification preferences say. Your group will always hear you if something goes wrong.
Leave, remove, report, block
Leave any group, remove a friend from their profile, and report or block anyone from the same place you would message them. A group creator can remove a member or delete the group outright.
