Get paid to make content for Tango
We are hiring 2 student creators for Fall 2026. $30-100 per video, ~2 videos per week, and performance bonuses up to $300-500 a video. No follower minimum, no scripts to read.
Tango makes plans for nights out
Most dating apps end in a chat that dies. We start where those apps stop: an actual plan, at an actual place, on an actual night. Dating is the flagship, and the same engine runs three doors.
Singles
We match two people and hand them a plan: who, where, and when. No endless chat that goes nowhere.
Couples
Date night without the twenty minute "what do you want to do" argument. We pick, they go.
Friends
One person starts a plan, the group votes, everyone gets the same address. Free, no account needed.
Worth doing before you apply: build a plan yourself. It is free and takes a minute, and it will make your pitch below far better.
College students, starting in College Station
Our market is 18 to 24, on a campus, with more free evenings than money and a group chat that cannot decide anything. We built Tango at A&M, for A&M, before anywhere else.
The problem
Swiping is a chore and nobody wants another inbox. The hard part was never matching. It was deciding where to go.
Why campus
Dense, social, walkable, and everyone is looking for something to do on a Thursday. A campus is the only place a night-out app can hit critical mass in a semester.
Why you
You already know what your friends complain about and what makes them laugh. That is the entire job.
Make short videos. Get paid per video.
~2 videos per week, 15-45 seconds each, for TikTok and Instagram. That is the whole commitment.
- Stopping people on campus and asking them something worth answering.
- Talking about the app the way you would actually talk about it.
- Taking a trending format and making it ours before it stops working.
- Filming a real night out, yours or your friends.
- Read a script we wrote. You know your audience better than we do.
- Post every day. Two good videos beat seven forgettable ones.
- Pretend you love something you do not. Tell us and we will fix the product.
- Hide that it is paid. Disclose it properly, every time.
Real spots around campus, not a studio
Every Tango plan lands at a local venue, and these are the ones already in the app. Northgate on a Thursday, a brunch table, a patio at nine. Tap any of them to see how that night looks on a phone.
You are not limited to these. If your best idea is in the MSC at midnight, film it there.
Published, because you should not have to ask
Rates are negotiable and we would rather talk about them openly than make you guess.
$30-100
per video, base
Set with you at onboarding, based on what your work already does.
$300-500
per video, performance bonus
A ceiling, not a promise. Five tiers, all of them published below.
2
videos a week
Roughly $520 a month at the middle of the base range, before any bonus.
A video earns the single highest tier it reaches, on top of its base rate, so these do not stack.
Views only count if the video also clears the like floor, within 14 days of posting. Both rules are spelled out below.
- 10K+ views+$25
- 25K+ views+$75
- 50K+ views+$150
- 100K+ views+$300
- 250K+ views+$500
Views on their own do not earn a bonus. A video only reaches a tier if it also clears the like floor, inside the 14 days window.
- 1. The like floor
- On TikTok, likes must reach at least 3% of that video's views. On Instagram, at least 2%. So a TikTok sitting at 50K views needs 1,500 likes to count, and an Instagram Reel at 50K views needs 1,000. Miss the floor and the views do not count toward a tier, however high they go. Both numbers sit under the platform averages, so a video people genuinely watched clears this without you thinking about it. It exists so nobody has to compete with bought views.
- 2. The 14 days window
- Only the first 14 days after a video posts are counted. We read the views and likes on day 14 and settle the bonus from those numbers. Anything the video earns after that does not count toward a tier, even if it takes off a month later.
- 3. Which accounts count
- Every account the video runs on is added together: your TikTok, your Instagram, and the official Tango TikTok and Instagram if we repost it. Each account has to clear its own like floor before its views join the total, and each is measured over the same 14 days from when that post went up. A repost on our channels is upside for you, never a reason to pay you less.
Paid as a 1099 contractor, which means a W-9 and a 1099 at the end of the year. If we ever change these numbers, it applies to videos made after the change, never retroactively to one you already posted.
Taste, not follower count
There is no follower minimum on this application, and we mean it. We would rather hire somebody with 800 followers who makes one genuinely funny video a week.
- A portfolio, however small
- Links to things you made. Class projects and a finsta count if they are good.
- One sample video
- Required. Anything creative you made, polished or not, about anything at all.
- Comfort with a camera
- On camera or behind it. Both are useful, and we ask which you prefer.
- Someone who finishes things
- Two videos a week for a semester is the actual test. It is not a hard job, but it is a consistent one.
We are hiring 2 ambassadors for Fall 2026
Applications are reviewed as they arrive and this closes when both seats are filled, so earlier is genuinely better.
01
Apply
The form below. About six minutes if you have your links handy.
02
We watch your sample
A real person watches every one. Expect to hear back within a week.
03
A short call
Fifteen minutes. We talk rates, ideas, and what you want out of it.
04
Onboard
Paperwork, brand basics, and the things we will never ask you to say.
05
First video
Yours. We will have opinions, but the idea is yours.
What we ask, and what you get
Published here rather than sprung on you at signing. Two of these exist because the law says so, and the rest because we would rather be clear now than awkward later.
- Label every paid video as an ad
- Use the platform tool, TikTok Branded Content or Instagram Paid Partnership, and put a visible disclosure where people actually see it rather than buried after six hashtags. This is an FTC requirement and it lands on us as much as on you. We will check, and we will ask you to fix anything that slips.
- Film your real nights out. That is the good stuff.
- A real plan with your partner, a real group night with your friends, a real date you actually went on: that is the most convincing content on this list and we want it. Bring the people in it along on purpose. Everyone on camera needs to have agreed beforehand, know it is paid content going out publicly, and be free to change their mind before it posts.
- Never show another person's profile on screen
- This is the narrow version of the rule, and the only part that is absolute. Your own profile and your own screens are fine. What is not fine is anyone else appearing in a screen recording: the discover deck, a match list, a face you scrolled past. Those are real people who joined a dating app, not an ad campaign, and they cannot consent to something they will never know happened. We will give you a demo account with invented profiles for anything that needs the app on screen.
- Being filmed is not the same as being outed
- Somebody can be happy on camera and still not want the internet to know they use a dating app. Say plainly that it is a Tango video going on a public account, and take no for an answer. Never film a minor, which matters on a campus full of first-years who are still 17.
- Keep it something we would both defend
- No ambush pranks or content that makes somebody the butt of a joke they did not agree to. No illegal activity, and no visible underage drinking, which matters because most of you will be under 21 and half the good venues are bars. Do not name competitors to knock them, and never suggest Tango guarantees anyone a relationship.
- Do not buy views, likes or followers
- The like floor on the bonus tiers is there to catch it. Buying engagement forfeits the bonus and ends the arrangement, and it is unfair to the other ambassador who is doing this honestly.
- Filming on campus has its own rules
- Texas A&M requires permission for commercial filming on its property and for using its marks in content made for profit. We are handling that with the university, not leaving it to you. Until it is sorted, keep paid content to public and off-campus spots and leave A&M logos and marks out of it.
- Paid on a schedule
- Base within 15 days of a video posting, and bonuses within 15 days of the 14 days window closing.
- Paid even if we do not use it
- Make a video to the brief and we decide to shelve it, you still get the base rate for it.
- Only the work we paid for
- The videos you make for the program are ours to keep and advertise with, with no time limit. Nothing you made before the program is included, and we credit you every time we repost.
- Your accounts stay yours
- You post on your own profiles and you keep them, the audience, and every video on them.
- A clean exit
- Either of us can stop with 2 weeks' notice, and any bonus still inside its measurement window is settled anyway.
- Your own hours
- You are a contractor, not an employee. You choose when you film, what you make, and what you say.
All of this goes into a one-page agreement you sign before your first video, so nothing here is a surprise and nothing in there is new.
Before you apply
- Do I need a big following?
- No. There is no follower minimum and we do not weight it heavily. We care what your best video looks like, not how many people happened to see it.
- Do I have to show my face?
- No. Plenty of the best short-form content is shot from behind the camera. The form asks which you prefer and we will match the work to your answer.
- Who owns the videos?
- You post them on your own accounts, and your accounts, your audience and your back catalogue stay yours. The consent box at the end of the form covers the videos you make for the program: those we can keep, repost and advertise with, on Tango channels and in paid ads, with no time limit. We are paying for that work, so we keep it. Anything you made before the program is not included, and we credit you every time we repost.
- How and when do I get paid?
- Base pay lands after the video is posted. Bonuses settle once the 14 days measurement window closes, at whichever of the five tiers the video reached. You will be paid as a 1099 contractor, so we will need a W-9 before the first payment.
- Why do likes matter if the tiers are based on views?
- Because views on their own do not earn a bonus. A video has to reach the view threshold AND have likes worth at least 3% of those views on TikTok, or 2% on Instagram. At 50,000 views that is 1,500 likes on TikTok or 1,000 on Instagram. Both floors sit under the platform averages, so a video people genuinely watched clears it without you doing anything. It is there so bought views cannot win a bonus.
- Can I film my own dates, or make content with my partner or my friends?
- Yes, and please do. A real group night with your friends or a real plan with your partner is more convincing than anything staged, and it is exactly what we are hiring for. The only conditions are that everyone on camera agreed beforehand, knew it was a paid Tango video going out publicly, and can still pull out before it posts. If you go on a real Tango date, ask the other person well before you meet, not with a camera already up.
- So what can I not put on screen?
- Other people inside the app. Your own profile and your own screens are fine, but a screen recording that shows the discover deck, a match list, or anyone you scrolled past puts real people who joined a dating app into an advertisement they will never know about. We give you a demo account with invented profiles for any shot that needs the app itself.
- Do views on the official Tango accounts count?
- Yes. If we repost your video on the official Tango TikTok or Instagram, those views and likes add to your total for that video alongside the ones on your own accounts. Each account has to clear its own like floor to count, and each is measured over 14 days from when that particular post went up. A repost is upside for you, never a reason to pay you less.
- What if my video blows up after two weeks?
- It will not count toward the bonus. We read the numbers on day 14 and settle from those, so anything after that window is outside the goal. The window is fixed so a bonus can be paid promptly instead of staying open forever, and a video with a slow burn is exactly the kind of thing we would factor into your base rate for the next one.
- What if a video flops?
- You still get the base rate. The bonus is upside for a video that does well, not a penalty for one that does not. Some of them will flop. That is how this works.
- Can I apply if I am not in the org that sent me this?
- Yes. Anyone enrolled at a university can apply. The org link just helps us see where applications came from.
- My sample video is too big to upload.
- The upload stops at 200MB, which most 15 to 45 second exports come in under. If yours does not, paste an unlisted YouTube, Drive or TikTok link in the field underneath instead. Both count exactly the same to us.
- Can I do this alongside another brand deal?
- Usually yes. The only hard blocker is an exclusivity agreement with a competing dating app. Tell us about anything else and we will work around it.
Apply
About six minutes. Have your handles and one sample video ready. Everything marked with a red star is required.
What happens to this: your application is read by the Tango team and nobody else. If we do not take you on, we keep it for 12 months and then delete it, sample video included. We never sell it or pass it to anyone outside Tango. This covers your application only; videos made and paid for during the program are covered by the consent box above. Want your application deleted sooner? Email support@tangodating.app and it is gone.
